Even while conveying social message we can make audience laugh Aman Sidhu Punjabi dialogue writer

Having written dialogues for leading Punjabi films like Rupinder Gandhi 2Parauna and Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Pareshan among others Aman Sidhu says the Punjabi industry is ready to experiment with scripts that are address serious issues yet keep the tone light.

My father Harbajan Singh he is a property adviser and mother, Palwinder Kaur she is a housewife. She has been a great source of motivation in my journey. I belong to a small village in Sangrur, Lehra Gaga. No one from our family has any connection in this industry. When you dream different from what society wants, you develop fear of being judged. Even I was scared to tell my family about my dream to enter this industry. But, with god’s grace here I am with all the support from my family. My destiny found its way and one day I met director Avatar Singh who called me to work as an assistant director for a film. But I got so involved in it that I started writing dialogues on my own without telling anyone. There was a vacancy of a dialogue writer in that film. I showed my work to the team and they appointed me as a dialogue writer and that was my first film Rupinder Gandhi 2 The robin hood.’Good content is the key to attract audience. Even while conveying a social message we can make the audience laugh. For instance  if we have to convey a message against alcohol its not necessary that the movie should be sad or emotional. We can only control the script of a movie, but the script of our destinies lies in the hand of the almighty. This pandemic taught me a lot of things. Before 2020 I used to visit my family twice or thrice in several months but as I spent time with them in the lockdown, I felt so fortunate to have a family especially with so many people losing their closed ones.
